During periods of time with gusty wind, due to some trees, these 3000 pictures/day are reached in the shortest time; it seems that even if I delete, say, 2000 pictures out of 2500 recorded, the counter continues from 2500 and not from 500, so the motion detector stops in a short time and for the rest of the day I can do almost nothing to restart it. I know, I can exclude the areas that trigger the motion detector with false alerts or set a lower sensitivity, but in these cases I will definitely miss a lot of movements that really interest me.
Why this 3000 limit? And why, even if I delete thousands of pictures before I hit that limit, it doesn't matter?
So the motion detector stopped. I expected that at the beginning of the next day the motion detector would turn itself on; no, I have to turn it on manually after I wake up in the morning and check the monitor, losing all the events that happened during the night.
I try to explain it here: https://securitycamera.cz/help/faqs.html#limit-img-count
The reason why the limit doesn't reset after you delete images is that the main purpose of the limit is to keep the budget of the application low. Believe or not, each detected motion costs me some money - some fragments of cents - but if there are thousands and millions of alarms, I wasn't able to cover the costs of the app. I had to limit the number of detected motions per day.
I am almost sure that the motion detection turns on again the next day, after it was ceased due to the limit (as you wrote in the solution no. 3). But I haven't checked this functionality for a long time, so I will double check it again if there isn't some new bug that I didn't noticed.
It often happens that I lose connection with the camera and then I have to go to this camera and manually turn it on, even though there is connection with this phone, but I cannot connect to the application, why?
When the camera is unavailable and you see that the application on the camera phone is down, the application was probably terminated by the Android operating system. This can have several causes. Please check the you have turned off battery optimization in the camera phone settings (go to the phone settings -> Applications -> Security Camera CZ -> Battery, set "No restrictions").
Can I get an invoice about the cost of your service? Have you a professional rate?
I could give you an invoice, but since the payment for the app is managed by the Google Play store, generally you should receive the invoice from the Store. You pay to the Store, the Store gives you an invoice and then some portion of the payment goes to me and I give an invoice to the Store. I want to say that there isn't direct business relationship between you and me...
I'm having trouble accessing my camera and I was wondering if it could be rebooted from your end anyhow.
I would like to have such a feature, but as far as I know, no third-party application can restart a smartphone. The "restart" functionality is dedicated only to native application (made by the manufacturer of the phone). So no app available on Google Play can have this functionality, including Security Camera CZ.
Can I decide the length of the motion detection video? I see videos with 2 seconds without the complete movement and other videos with other time.
The videos are recorded as 2 seconds clips and "glued" together so they look like one longer continuous video. Recording of the video should finish only after no motion is detected. So if you think your video is finished prematurely, there is something weird. Is it possible to share with me some example of such a video? At this moment, it is not possible to manually adjust the length of the video, it is automatic only.
Despite setting, the application does not save photos to Google Drive.
As far as I know, saving images on Google drive should work fine. Please double check that you look at the Google drive under the account that you use as a login to the application. You should see a folder "Security Camera CZ" on the Google drive.
I need an APK for Android 4.4.2.
The app supports Android phones starting Android 4.1, so you should find the right APK on the Google Play store. I don't have dedicated APKs for different Android versions.
I would like to know that does both phones have to be on line to be able to run this app, or is there a way that I can only have one phone online and the other as a share or do both phones need to be working and on line? Thank You for your reply.
After you install the application on a smartphone, the camera will keep working even without an internet access. It will continue to detect motions, record them and it will store the recorded pictures or videos locally on SD card. Of course, when the camera is not connected to Internet, you cannot watch the live stream and you cannot watch the current recordings.
So shortly: yes, the camera can also work without Internet connection.
Hello, in the previous e-mail I wrote that there is a problem when the application cannot access the camera for various reasons. The problem can always be solved by restarting the phone. Unfortunately, the problem here is that when I am not at home, I am not able to do it. I managed to find an application that restarts the phone at a designated time. Unfortunately, it no longer supports my old phone. The question arises whether it is possible to add a function to the application that would force the phone to restart when it is impossible to access the camera.
I would like very much to add an option to restart the camera phone. But as far as I know, no application can restart the Android smartphone. So I am very surprised that the AutoOptimizer app can. Are you sure that this app can restart the phone? I didn't test it yet, because it is paid app.
Is it possible to access the camera via a web browser? Also, is the application available for IOS?
You can access your camera from the web page
https://securitycamera.cz
When there, click on the tab "Web monitor (beta)", sign in using the same account that you used on your camera. Please use the Google Chrome browser for the best results.
You can use the same web page from watching your camera on IOS.
Battery discharges with your Security Camera even when plugged into a charger.
If your camera smartphone discharges even when plugged into a charger, then the charger or the USB charging cable have some problem. Try to replace the USB cable, if it doesn't help, replace the charger.
