You know why the torch does not stay on but does turn on for 1 minute when I set it to turn on for 1 minute but then it turns off and the setting turns off like it says off rather than on? Like I said it does stay on for a minute and the tab on the application does stay on but then it turns to off on the tab and the light turns off.

This is intended behavior. If you turn your torch on for 1 minute and when this interval expires, the camera turns off the torch and the tab in the settings also turns off, so it is ready for another settings.

After 3 days of launch, the sequences are recorded in HD as I have set, but after connecting to the live broadcast, the camera only captures 480x270, so I can't read the car's license plate, everything worked until now, tried restarting, disconnecting and connecting the camera and monitor, but nothing has helped so far.

The switch from HD to SD quality is probably happening because the application has a weekly time limit for live broadcasts in HD quality set to 120 minutes per week in the free version and 480 minutes in the paid version. The weekly counter resets every Thursday night (i.e. on Friday you will see the live broadcast in HD quality again). I am going to increase these limits soon.

Hey there,
I recently downloaded on the Play store the security camera app. It working good except often the screen will go black when recording the screen. This is without anything being under the lens. I'm not sure why it's doing this and wanted to ask for help.

This is very unusual problem. Did you try to switch between the front and back cameras to see if the black screen comes from both these cameras?

Hello,
I like your Security Camera CZ application, I just want to ask since I have an Apple if it can also be used on iOS.

The native application is currently only available in the Google Play Store for Android. On iOS devices, you can open a lightweight version via the Google Chrome web interface at https://securitycamera.cz. This web version is adapted for mobile phones and large PC/Mac screens. At the moment, it allows you to monitor the camera and other functions will gradually be added.
Hello Dan

27.8.2023 23:45

Hello,
I'm using the free version of the software. I set the video resolution to 1280*720, but stream comes only in 480*360. I'm pretty sure that the stream resolution was ok in the past. What should I do / what to set to get 720 video?

The problem is in the week limit of HD quality. HD quality of the stream is limited to 120 minute per week in the free version and 480 minutes in the paid version. The counter is reset each Thursday night.

Please, I would like advice on downloading full resolution images stored on the SD card in my mobile. Downloading one image takes about 2-3 minutes. I have been using two Androids as a camera for about 3 years. At first, it took a few seconds to download an image. First, the long download started with one camera, after about 3 months it started with the other camera. I returned both to factory settings, installed Security Camera CZ and the problem persists.

If the download takes this long, there is a problem with the internet connection. Please try restarting the internet connection, typically the WiFi router? And also try restarting your phone-monitor, the fault may also be in it.

I bought this app approx. 14 days ago. Now I have ads in my app. I think you gave me amount back to my account. Can you tell me how is this possible?

Thank you for your intention of the purchase. I have no idea how this is possible, because all the purchase flow is managed by Google Play store. The app only receives info that the purchase was successful. So probably something happened on the Google Play store side. You can try the purchase again, hopefully the second try will go without refund.

I work as an administrator of several camera systems. Due to illegal entry into the land of an apartment building under construction, I enforced your APK with the owner. After an occasional outage and when I clicked through, I secured the entrance to the object with an incredible veteran honor 5x android 6, I don't understand why it still works. The second camera Huawei p9light m android 7 works even better, actually 100%. On Monday I'm leaving for a week out of reach. Please advise if I turn on the camera recording all the time where a lot of data will be saved after my return when I stop. After trying it, I got the impression that it's in the phone's memory of the monitor. I'm afraid that I won't lose the recording due to the lack of monitor storage.

The images are saved in the phone-camera's memory. That is, the only danger is that the phone-camera has little space on the SD disk (or internal memory) and in that case it will start deleting older recordings to make room for newer ones. This can be prevented by inserting a larger SD card into the phone-camera. The second solution is to switch the camera to save images not to its memory, but to your Google Drive (if you have it free) - then the phone-camera's memory will not fill up at all, everything will be on Google Drive. Switching is simple - open the camera settings and select "High-resolution image storage" and turn it on.

Thanks for the information, but I was referring to the impossibility of transmitting voice or sounds from the monitor to be played through the microphone of the camera. I only get it if both devices are connected to the same WiFi, so it's impossible for me to use this feature remotely.

This is really interesting problem; I have not heard about similar issue from other users. Normally, the camera and monitor phones do not care how they are connected to Internet. For this reason, the live stream including the talk-back function should work regardless on the Internet connection. But I will test it on my equipment as soon as possible.

22.8.2023 17:43

The microphone function does not work, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the App on both devices but it still gives the same problem with the microphone.

This app records detected motions as a series of still images in high resolution in the default settings. These images are without sound. If you want to record with sound, you can switch the camera to record detected motions as video clips. Please go to the camera settings and set the "Recording mode" to "Video clips".

Is there a possibility to choose the option of screen orientation in reverse landscape 180 degrees in the near future? Right now, if the phone is in the landscape mode and the screen is not facing towards me, the objects that are shown in the right side are viewed in the viewer on the left side. I don t know if it solves the problem, but it should in my opinion.

The application automatically rotates the image, both for front and back camera, so the image should be always in good rotation. In all cases that I have seen, when the image had wrong rotation, the problem was in malfunction of the rotation sensor in the camera phone. The rotation sensor is a small component in the phone which informs about the current rotation of the phone. This component sometimes dies and then the phone does not rotate well the images. I am afraid that if you see images with wrong rotation, then the rotation on the camera phone doesn't work well. Unfortunately, there isn't any easy way how to fix this problem, except creating the camera from another smartphone.

Do you have this app in Apple Store for iPhone? I search "Security Camera cz" no result. I purchased your subscription on Google Play and assume it work on iPhone if there's app for it?

This app is currently available at Android Play Store only. On iPhone, you can watch your camera using the web version of the app which is available at the address https://securitycamera.cz.

18.8.2023 15:38

It's supposed to turn off motion detection when I'm nearby, but I've been at work for 3+ hours now, and it still says I'm nearby. work is half way across town from where I live. Why doesn't the nearby feature work properly? Are you aware of this issue and already attempting to fix it? Pixel 7 Pro is my main. I have the camera running on my old Pixel 6. I have attached screenshots of the about pages.

The "nearby" function usually works reliably, but true is that exceptionally it fails. I would guess that it works at 97%. Unfortunately, the "nearby" function is hardcoded native function of Android phones and I cannot influence reliability of it. Most usually it works fine, but sometimes it fails for unknown reason. Please also check (if you have more than one "monitor" phone) that you didn't leave one of the "monitor" phones near by the camera. You can check which "monitor" phone is close to the camera if you go to the camera settings and in the description of the "Nearby" item you see the name of the "monitor" phone that is close to the camera.

17.8.2023 18:07

My camera isn't showing up on my monitor.

If your camera does not show on your "monitor" phone, you probably didn't use the same login account on both camera and monitor? You MUST use the same login account on both your camera phone and the monitor phone. Without this, the monitor cannot see your camera. Please let me know if you have any problem, I am here to help.

Hi
Is there a limit for HD video? For me the app serves as a dashcamera in the car, and the quality is fine, but now the quality is really poor and honestly the app loses its purpose. If there is a limit, can it be removed? The app is really good and does what it supposed to very well, the functions are great, keep up the good work.

This app has a limit of 120 minutes of HD video per week in free version and 480 minutes of HD video per week in paid version. This is because I have costs related to data transmission. I plan to optimize these time limits in near future.
Note from December 2025: the limit of HD video has been completely removed.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide feedback and seek clarification regarding the video functionality of your app. I have been using your app for remote security camera monitoring and have noticed an issue with the continuous video playback. As of now, the app seems to rely on motion sensor activation to display video, even when I have disabled the motion sensor option. Despite my efforts, I am unable to achieve a seamless and uninterrupted stream of remote video footage. When attempting to view the camera feed remotely from a distant cell phone, the app displays images intermittently, with several seconds or even minutes between each image update. This makes it challenging to monitor the area effectively and compromises the security function that I was seeking from the app. I am writing to inquire if this is the intended behavior of your app or if there might be a configuration issue on my end. Could you please confirm whether your app is designed to support continuous remote video viewing without reliance on motion sensor triggers? If so, I would greatly appreciate guidance on how to achieve this seamless video playback. I value the features your app offers and believe it has the potential to meet my security needs effectively. However, resolving this issue is crucial to ensuring its functionality aligns with my expectations.

This application is intended to make a surveillance camera from your old smartphone. The smartphone then works as a surveillance camera, it detects movements in the scene and records it. My application can record detected movements as a series of still images in high resolution or as a video (you can change between these two modes in the camera settings). Except that, you can connect to your camera and watch live stream. During watching the live stream, you can record it. I am afraid that my app cannot continuously record, image by image, the scene if there is no movement in it. This is because I think it is useless. Why would you need to record a scene if nothing changes in it?

14.8.2023 6:17

Since paying for the add free version the automatic like detection doesn't work correctly sometimes it comes on when there is motion, sometimes it's on all the time or the time sometimes it doesn't come on at all regardless of the settings.

Both the free and the paid version work the same way, there is no difference. So, if there is anything wrong now (after the payment), it is related to something else. Please go to the camera settings - Detection area and check the settings there. You should exclude from the scene all part of the scene where are some naturally moving object (for instance trees, clouds, curtains...). Also, you can adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection. Just try it and you will see that the results will be much better.

13.8.2023 19:30

Can it work at a very long distance, like from one country to another?

Yes, I confirm. The camera and "monitor" talk to each other over Internet, so you can watch your camera even from a different country. The only condition is that both phones have to be connected to Internet.

10.8.2023 0:02

I am a security camera user I have now changed my smartphone to a new one. In the old phone - which was a camera, it was not visible that the program was running and the camera did not turn off. In the new smartphone, when the program is running, an icon informing about it is displayed. Additionally, the camera does not turn back on after disabling viewing on the phone monitor. How to turn off the notification about the operation of the program on the phone-camera. And how to set the camera to start after turning off.

This is due to new security rules that are presented by Google each time when a new version of Android is released. Currently, all applications running on background must have an icon visible to the user, so the user is informed that the app is running on background. Also, it is possible that Android kills an app running on background if it decides it is necessary for some reason. So, on new Android phones it is necessary that the camera app is running on the display of the phone. Unfortunately, this cannot be avoided.

9.8.2023 19:45

I would like to know if there is a video application that can penetrate into a closed room?

Do you mean an application using which you could see things through walls? As far as I know, there isn't such an app yet. Looking through walls is very very problematic, because ligh doesn't go through walls, so it is necessary to use some other signals which does (WiFi signal for instance). On the other hand, the problem with WiFi signal is that it travels around objects, so it is not possible to "see" something that is between you and the WiFi signal source.
I am afraid that in these days, even the most expensive military electronics cannot see through walls yet.

7.8.2023 5:02

The imagines shown are very, very unclear and blurry. You can't see nothing but glow.

May be there is not enough light in front of the camera? I mean that may be low light conditions. Please note that old and cheap smartphones (when used as a camera) can have very cheap image sensor which doesn't work well in low light conditions.

8.8.2023 6:16

With the unregistered unsubscribed version, am I able to source videos? Does application record videos on non-paid version? If so, where would be located? If not. Can I pay to get access to videos? Using the captures I have in app?

The free (unpaid) version has all functions and features like the paid version. The main difference is that the free version shows ads and the paid version does not. In the free version you can record detected motions as videos - just go to the camera settings, choose "Recording method" and select "Video sequences". You will then see all detected motions as videos with sound.

7.8.2023 22:23

The image resolution is set to use 8MPx and the date/time signature in the picture is disabled. What is the expected RAM needed for the app to work normally?

The amount of required RAM depends on the images resolution. The app needs about 60 MB of RAM to run plus [the_image_resolution x 4 x 3]. For instance, if you have image resolution set to 8MPx, then the app needs: 60 + 8 x 4 x 3 = 156MB of RAM.

7.8.2023 21:57

Hi when I am viewing the app, I receive the messages that says movement detected... But when the app is not open I don t receive the messages.

The app shows notification about new detected motion only each 1 minute (1 notification per 1 minute). May be that is the problem. You can change this period in settings - you can for instance set the app to show notification about each detected motion. To change the settings, go to the main menu using the three dashes in the top left corner on the main screen, choose Notifications and change the period. If this does not solve the issue, then there is problem with internet connection of the "monitor" phone. Try to physically restart the monitor phone, it should solve the issue.

7.8.2023 3:38

I am struggling with this issue from a while, once this message appear the app stop the motion detection "but the app keeps working normally and I can connect to the camera live feed normally", but the issue is that the camera not auto record and not sending notifications if it detect any motion. The device is rooted, and I almost deleted most of the system apps and all the user apps "and even converted the security camera cz app to a system app" and still not able to resolve this issue. The device has free RAM, so mostly something in the app code not recognizing the free ram on android 4.4.2 "kitkat". I really appreciate if you fix this issue or at least informing me what is the free ram expected to be available for the app to work normally "maybe I can find a solution by changing the OS settings variables".

This error message mostly appears on older phones when the motion detection is switched to "images" (motion detection records motions as series of images in high resolution) AND the resolution of the image is set to very high value. For instance, if the camera is set to record images in resolution 12 MPx, then the camera has to process the 12 MPx image each 2 seconds. 12 MPx image occupies 48MB of memory, which can be too much for some older phone. Try to lower the image resolution of the camera. You can also try to turn off the date/time signature in the picture.

I would like to know how to recover the recording of a phone that has just been stolen from me.

This application stores all pictures and recordings to a private cloud, so if you install the app on another phone and use the original login account (that you used on your stolen phone), you should be able to see all pictures and recordings.

5.8.2023 5:55

It says the app is free also I can see in the description an amount 7.49$. Why? What is the difference between paid and free version?

The app is free including all functions and features. There isn't anything that would require you to make a payment, all is free. The biggest different between paid and free version is that the free version shows ads, while the paid version is without ads.

2.8.2023 12:00

Unfortunately, the app only works if the camera and monitor are nearby. When I want to use the app remotely, the camera is offline and cannot be turned on. It's a shame, because the app is interesting.

The camera and monitor talk to each other via Internet, so the communication must work even when the camera is very very far away from the "monitor" phone (even in the another part of the world).
If this doesn't work for you, I think that there will be some problem in internet connection of the camera or monitor phone. I would strongly recommend to restart both the camera and the monitor phone and if you can, also restart the WiFi router.
Please let me know if these restarts do not help.

2.8.2023 0:12

It is possible to recover files deleted here, on the specific days of a specific month?

I am afraid that deleted recordings cannot be recovered. If something was deleted, it is deleted from all locations and forever.

1.8.2023 15:35

I can't turn on the torch. In the notification option, I have two devices, i.e. as if two phones that are a camera, and there is one, should it be like this or is there any error?

There isn't bug in the app, as far as I know. If you see two cameras on your "monitor" phone, but you have only one, you should be able to delete the second (wrong) camera from its settings. Go to the settings of that "wrong" camera and almost at the bottom there is in option "Turn on, off, delete...". Click on it and delete this camera.
Let me know if it doesn't work.

30.7.2023 2:04

Need to fix this mistake of getting off camera! Many times, I'm away from home and the camera turns off by itself! You have to restart the app for it to work again! The ideal would be to remove that camera off button on the camera device, and leave it always active. Since the monitor controls it, there's no need to have an on/off switch on the camera device! Let the monitor do the work! Keep the camera always active after installed it will be much more useful!!

Thank you for your email and suggestion. I will consider removing the button in the "camera" application in a future.
