Hello,
I have been using your application for a long time, I think it is the best application of this type, of all that I have tried so far. However, I am bothered by the poor connection to the live stream. The application reports without any problems that someone is moving in front of the other mobile, but when I want to look, I can only do so through the "Disruption" gallery, which updates almost immediately. But when I try to connect directly to the live stream, "connecting to the camera" stops quite often in the middle and I do not connect. I have the application on one phone that I use as a monitor and on three other devices that I use as cameras, in different places, they do not have a common WiFi. I have the problem with all three. It's safe to say that in 50 out of 100 cases I fail to connect, even though it's sending photos at that moment.

Please try to physically restart your phone that you are using as a "monitor". The problem will most likely be there.

Another issue I have seen is that the camera somehow goes offline, if switched on continuously. I was wondering if the camera app can restart by itself, in case it gets stuck, or no connectivity to server, if connected to WiFi/internet.

The Android system sometimes restart the camera app and until this moment I haven't figured out the reason. I suppose that the Android phone gets sometimes out of memory and in such a case, it restarts running apps. The problem is on Android 11 and newer - on these new Androids, the camera app cannot be restarted, because due to new security rules

This application is great, thank you. But I have a problem with the fps of the video. How could I increase frame rate?

When the camera is switched to record detected motions as video clips, it records video with 4 frames per second. This framerate is hardcoded in the app and cannot be changed. I hoped that this framerate is sufficient and the video clips doesn't occupy too much memory space. Please note that by default the camera records detected motions as a series of images in high resolution. In this case, images are recorded with frame rate 1 image per 2 seconds. You can switch between video and images mode in the camera settings.

Please consider improvement of switching on camera based on detection of connected WiFi (same WiFi, source and camera, then user is nearby).

Thank you for your suggestion. I've already tried this, but it doesn't work as expected. The problem is, that normal Android phone often turns off WiFi to save energy. For instance, when you have your phone in a pocket, the WiFi module is turned off. Even when you come home, the WiFi module is still turned off. Only when you touch your phone, the WiFi module is turned on and the phone start to run normally. Due to this saving feature, the phone often doesn't recognize that it is on home WiFi until is touched (and turned on). For this reason, the nearby function didn't work as was expected.
Currently, the nearby function uses a built-in Android feature that detects if it enters some area. This built-in feature uses internally many sources of geo location - WiFi, GSM, GPS and may be more. All these sources are used simultaneously by the Android hardware which can then tell the app if it is close to some object or not.

I figured it out, although you have s built in screen saver, I needed the phone to stay locked, and it seems that if the app is in the foreground when I lock the device then it will work at intended. But now the phone keeps sending me notifications that the temperature is rising although it shows 26 ' and it won't stop approx. I changed the threshold to manual 40 , why is that happening?

The temperature notifications should work as expected, at least no other users have the same issue. You can temporarily switch off overheat notifications if you want - go to the phone setting on your "monitor" phone -> choose Applications -> Security Camera CZ -> Notifications -> Categories. Here you can turn off overheat notifications.

Great app. I've started to experiment with the motion video recording and here is the result.
1. The highest resolution the app allows me to select is 640x480
2. Frame rate is slow but acceptable.
3. Encoding is extremely blocky. It's like Minecraft only worse. Impossible to see any detail at all.
The still frame pictures mode works fine and I can select up to a 5 MPx 4:3 or a 2.1 MPx 16:9. Much more than the 1/3 MP for video. Any chance on getting better video quality?

The motion video recording works on HD (1280x720) by default. On very old phones it can happen that HD is too much for the phone's hardware - in that case the resolution is 640x480. Also, the encoding depends on the camera phone hardware. Better phones use high quality encoding while low-end phones encode the video with lower quality. If you could use a better phone as the camera, the video results will be probably better. Motion images recording can use any resolution that the camera phone supports. If the camera phone supports up to 48MPx for instance, you can use it for images recording.

My camera can't turn on, I tried everything. It says can't access image sensor.

If you see the error message "cannot access image sensor", it means that the application didn't get access to the camera chip. This can be cause by two things:
- some other app is accessing the camera chip at the same time. Please note that only one app can access camera chip at the same time.
- the camera chip is broken and cannot be accessed at all
Try to physically restart the camera phone and ensure that there isn't any other app running which access the camera (for instance some other surveillance camera app).

This app is currently available for Android phones only. On iPhone (or from your PC, Mac or anything else), you can watch your camera on the web page https://securitycamera.cz/monitor.html. This web is optimized as well for mobile and large screens web browsing.

Why is it that Security Cameras CZ's video monitoring doesn't work properly on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9? Because everything seems to indicate there's nothing wrong with the device itself. First, storage permission to access files and media is required and yet this app didn't prompt Android to turn this permission on, yet on other devices this permission isn't needed. The more pressing issue is the app video preview becomes distorted, this happens in all instances including live streaming, and recording motion detection. There appears to be a coding error / bug that happens as the hardware is being used by the apps software to generate video and conflicts with the Samsung's camera. The camera image hangs after a few seconds and becomes distorted with any movement in the frame, making it so capturing any clear image becomes unusable. I have sample footage that was captured by the security app that demonstrates how awful the picture gets. I would like support to review the footage and work out any bugs with the video coding of the security app so that it gets fixed and made compatible with Samsung Galaxy note 9.

Very strange, because the app has many users with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 phone in the camera role. Please would you send me your email address that you use as the login to the app? I would like to check the background servers for possible error messages from your account.
If you want to invest some time into the solution of the problem, you can try to make a factory reset of your Galaxy Note 9. I hope this solution will work, because after the factory reset, the phone gets into the same state as it was when it was new. Then the app must work, because it works for other users with Galaxy Note 9. Factory reset erases all data and applications from the phone and puts the phone in its initial state. If you decide to make the factory reset, do not forget to backup all data if you have some on the phone - all data will be erased. After the factory reset, connect the phone to WiFi and let the phone update everything it needs. Then install the Security Camera CZ app again. I am almost sure that this helps. But it is up to you, factory reset takes some time.

Your app claims to support video monitoring and recording and yet all I am able to do is photo image sequence. Any time I switch to video the picture is a blank screen for the rear camera. Front camera 1 and 2 is white fuzzy interference. None of the video settings make any difference. Samsung note 9 Android 10. Also, on the monitoring device, there are literally no settings.

Does the live stream work? When you will test it, please switch between front and back cameras using the "switch" icon (in the top right corner of the screen with the live stream). Please let me know if the live stream works.

But you were probably ready for the fact that your application would be compared with others and that people would have comments.
I don't like the approach as in Chinese cars - when the Chinese car has features like in the Mercedes Maybach, but none of them work well. That is, you have everything, but you don't use anything because it doesn't work well.
Something similar with you.
- works through Google Home, but the delay is 10 seconds and even the camera cannot be changed, the flash can be turned on, and so on. (The function is there, but I disconnected it because there is no content)
- There is a 3:4 format in the settings, but it does not work. (Sometimes it is more important for me not to crop the edges of the picture than high quality). Alfred Camera can show video in 3:4 format.
- HD videos (not free, we spend a lot of time watching ads, and time costs money). The video is in HD quality, but the video recording is 4 frames per second, this means that the video is of very poor quality. In Alfred Camera, the video is smooth, although in the free version it is not HD, but it turned out that smooth video is more important than HD quality. Therefore, I constantly switched between the two applications, but for the most part I stay on Alfred Camera, because recording 24 frames per second is more important than hd. Plus, even in the free version of Alfred, the video is stored in the cloud. And advertising in their app does not take time.
You've done a good job. Your application is beautiful and of high quality. At first glance, it is very attractive. It has many features. Not a big fee for disabling ads. But due to some nuances, I have to return to Alfred Camera. Your payment for a year is half the price of Alfred Camera, but even if I pay you money, I will not get cloud storage and video quality of 30 frames per second. So how will you convince the consumer to choose your product and not another?

Thank you very much for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I will consider to increase the frame rate of videos - 4 fps is probably too low. By the way, the recordings of detected motions can be stored to Google Cloud (both images and videos) - you can turn it on in the camera settings.

Why do cameras always crop the picture and make it 9:16? If you change this parameter to 3:4 in the settings, then only the photo on the main page changes, but if you turn on the video broadcast, it will still be 9:16

The live stream is in HD resolution by default. HD resolution is 1280x720 pixels, which is 16:9 format. I do not know any other valid video format with higher resolution that would be in 4:3 format or so. If you know, please let me know! You can switch the live stream to SD (standard definition resolution), then the video will be in any format you want (4:3, 1:1, 3:2 etc.), but the resolution will be about 480x360 pixels or so (i.e. much lower than HD).

Why is the video recorded during motion detection so low quality? That is, the expansion is normal, but the recording is approximately 2 frames per second. It turns out not a video, but a set of slides from photos. I tried it on different smartphones.

This app can record detected motions as a series of still images in high resolution (default) or as videos. Images have frame rate about 1 image per two seconds, but resolution of images can be as high as is the maximum resolution of the camera lens. Videos have frame rate 4 frames per seconds and HD resolution. You can choose between these two modes in the camera settings. The frame rate of images is limited by the android itself. The frame rate of video is 4 fps in order to save storage capacity.

Is it possible to integrate into the app an autostart function if the phone restarts? I have my phone camera set up on a remote location and I currently use boots app to autorun the camera app but it doesn t work always?

The app has an autostart already. The problem is that due to new security rules on Android 11 and newer versions, an access to camera a microphone is allowed only to applications that were started by a human (someone must click on an app icon to start the app). Applications that were auto-started do not have access to camera and microphone. For this reason, the application is set up to auto-start after reboot on Android 10 and lower versions only.

Please, help me to solve the problem I have. Even when camera is on and sending movement detection alarms, the app in monitoring device tells the camera is off and is not possibly change their settings. I had reboot both devices several times, camera and monitor, but problem remains. I had uninstalled and reinstall app in both devices but problem remains.

Very strange. Please try to sign-out and sign-on on your monitor phone and if it doesn't help try the same on your camera phone. I hope that this helps, if not, please let me know.

Hello. Sometimes the bitrate of the broadcast drops to 50-150, the quality is set to 480 270, but the motion recordings are in maximum quality (1280 720). At the same time, the Internet is excellent, both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network (30 megabytes per second). How to solve this problem? If you select a different resolution, restart the application, restart the broadcast, nothing happens.

This is most probably caused by the week limit of HD quality of the live stream. This limit is currently set to 120 minutes in the free version and 480 minutes in the paid version. When this limit is reached, the live stream quality drops from HD to SD. The counter is reset each Thursday night (from Thursday to Friday).

In principle, this is not possible - the camera only records when something is happening in front of it. I assumed that if nothing is happening in front of the camera, the recording would be pointless and would only take up data space on the storage.

All media on your account are available in the screen with motion detection. When you long press on a day title, you will see an option to download the whole day to your local storage. You can mark all your media by long-pressing on all day titles and then download all the media. Other data cannot be downloaded, they are most or less technical.

I bought premium license but the video/audio stream randomly terminates. I thought it's 30 minutes of uninterrupted stream?

Thank you for your email and for your purchase. You are absolutely right - the live stream in the paid version should run 30 minutes continuously. If it doesn't in your case, there will be most probably some problem with internet connection on the camera or monitor side. I would strongly recommend to restart both the camera and monitor phones and if you can, also restart the WiFi router. Also check that the camera is plugged into a charger.

The car is returned to the garage in the evening and the application is stopped. In the morning, the car goes out and the application is launched. When the previous day has crossed the limit of 3000 photos, the detect motion function turns off and the next day when the application is launched, it must be manually turned on.

I will check again that the app doesn't have some bug which can cause such a malfunction.
Note from 12.3.2026: This is now working as expected in the current version.

If the camera doesn't connect, there is most probably some problem with internet connection of the camera or monitor phones. I would strongly recommend to physically restart both the camera and monitor phones. If you can, also restart the WiFi router that the camera is connected to.

If the live view stops, there is probably some problem with internet connection of the camera or the "monitor" phone. I would strongly recommend to restart both the camera and monitor phones. If you can, also restart the WiFi router that the camera is connected to.

I see from the FAQ that the camera App should feature "Automatic start of the application on unexpected device reboot". I would very much like SC to start automatically at device bootup, but so far, the only way I found to have that was to use a separate start-up manager application. I do I set the app up in order to do that alone?

The camera application auto-starts only on Android version 11 and lower. Android 12 came with a new security rule, that only applications that are started by a human can access to the camera and microphone. For this reason, auto-start of the app on Android 12 and newer doesn't make sense, because the app couldn't record any images, videos and sound.
Note from 12.3.2026: Auto-start now works on all Android versions.

If your camera is offline, then it has lost internet connection or the camera phone is down (for instance because it had exhausted the battery). You will probably have the physically check the camera phone to see what happened.
